KEYT-TV came out to cover Father’s day for 2019 with our client, Chandler’s Men’s Salon in Santa Barbara, which offered free beard trims and clean-ups for dads and sons on Saturday, June 15, to honor Father’s Day the following day.
Stylists from Chandler Men’s Salon opened up a pop-up shop for the day in the Funk Zone to toast dads and sons and help them look their best with some complementary pampering. The salon’s stylists said they enjoy getting out into the community and giving back, especially to all the great dads out there who helped raised their children. It was a fun event and the customers came away looking sharp.
Owned by Gillian Ireland, a licensed cosmetologist, Chandler’s Men’s Salon is located at 401 Chapala Street, Suite 104, in downtown Santa Barbara and specializes in men’s haircuts for all ages and styles. The website is www.chandlermenssalon.com.

Mexico Buildings are Coated to Last
October 1, 2018
Some of Mexico’s largest commercial properties are being built and refurbished for the ages with the help of Textured Coatings of America, Inc.
Continuing its international expansion, the Los Angeles, California-based Textured Coatings of America, Inc. is working with the Monterrey, Mexico-based KALOS on a wide variety of new construction and maintenance projects. KALOS is one of the largest commercial property developers in Mexico.
KALOS has elected to use the full suite of TEX•COTE® products for its massive new industrial parks. The sprawling projects incorporate KALOS’ preferred method of construction, which is concrete tilt-up wall construction. In concrete tilt-up wall construction, the walls are poured flat on the ground and then lifted to their final upright position. All interior exposed steel is being primed with TEX•COTE® METAL-PRIME™ PRIMER, then coated with TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® SUPER-COTE™ in Bright White to provide a clean white high-gloss finish.
The exterior walls are coated with patented TEX•COTE® COOLWALL SUPER-COTE, while the exterior metal is finished with the TEX•COTE® REFLECT-TEC® heat-reflective roof and metal wall coating system, to reduce cooling costs and maintain a trouble-free, fade-resistant appearance for years to come.
To increase impact and chemical resistance, many surfaces are finished with TEX•COTE® CLEAR-GARD™, a two-component polyurethane top coat.
In addition to ongoing new construction, KALOS is now beginning to recoat millions of square feet of existing commercial buildings with these same products.

Revolutionary Concrete Product Cools Paws on the Dog Days of Summer
The call came in from a government contractor who said his guard dogs were burning their paws on the scorching hot pavement. Was anything available to help cool off the outdoor concrete surface and spare the dogs’ pain?
Yes, replied the folks at Textured Coatings of America, Inc., they had just the thing. The premier architectural coating firm recommended and eventually provided to the contractor its revolutionary patented COOL-TEC® heat-reflective concrete and wood-deck coating, which can reduce surface temperatures by up to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
Days later, the company received a hearty thank you letter from the contractor, who raved that, with the COOL-TEC® coating, the ground had gone from being too hot to touch to literally cool enough to walk on barefoot. It was saving the paws of their beloved and elite trained dogs, whose job required that they run the outdoor grounds.
The happy ending to this story led the folks at TEX•COTE® to begin recommending their COOL-TEC®product to all government agencies and other companies as well as residents with outdoor dogs, to help them solve the common problem of dogs damaging their paw pads on the unbearably hot grounds of summer.
Each year, animal-care experts across the country warn of the damage the hot pavement can cause to dogs’ paws. PetMD advises that, in addition to making sure outdoor dogs are kept hydrated and cool, “it’s essential to look out for paw pad burns on your dog or cat whenever your pet is let outside.”
COOL-TEC® is one of many patented architectural coating products in the extensive TEX•COTE® line. The company also offers its COOL-TEX® coating for garage floors, patios, walkways, balconies, ramps, recreational areas and aquatic centers. And its patented COOLWALL® System has the same effect on building exteriors. In an independent study, The U.S. Department of Energy determined the COOLWALL® coating is highly efficient at reducing absorbed infrared heat, thereby lowering cooling costs.
Founded 57 years ago, Textured Coatings of America, Inc., is a family-owned and operated industry leader in researching, developing and manufacturing technologically advanced sustainable architectural coatings.
