Michael S. Martin, an attorney at Myers, Widders, Gibson, Jones & Feingold LLP, was named a 2014 Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine. This is the second year in a row Mr. Martin has received this distinction.
The Southern California Rising Stars list recognizes top, up-and-coming attorneys who are either 40 years of age or under, or who have been practicing law for 10 years or fewer. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the attorneys in the state are selected for this honor.
Mr. Martin’s practice emphasizes civil litigation including commercial personal property and real property lease disputes; construction defect actions; commercial receivables and collections; and judgment enforcement. Additionally, he focuses on construction law issues and regularly reviews and drafts commercial and residential agreements and assists contractors with preserving their collection rights by preparing, filing and enforcing construction-related liens, bonds and stop notices. He is also experienced with resolving construction licensing issues and represents general contractors, specialty contractors, heavy equipment lessors, and material suppliers in Federal and State Court litigation and in California State Licensing Board mediations and arbitrations.
He is active in the construction industry and currently serve as Legislative Committee Chair for the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA); Board Member for LandPac—the political actions committee for the CLCA; member of the Ventura County Contractors Association; and Membership Chair for the Board of Directors of the Channel Islands Chapter of the CLCA.
